Lost Place: Abandoned military base Campo Inglesi. Excellent views of Stromboli and the Strait of Messina. Rubble and trash on the grounds. Access from the SP44 is easy. The locked entrance gate can simply be driven around. Access is also possible from the north via the town of Infantino, but the road is only one lane and in very poor condition in places. Warning! Google Maps suggests this route, which I advise against! It's best to enter Campo Italia as your destination so that Google Maps guides you to Campo Inglesi via the SS44. We didn't stay overnight, but stopped for a rest and enjoyed the stunning views.
