This is the parking lot of the Abbey of Santa Maria di Ronzano. The parking lot is free, well-lit and without services. The bottom is with interlocking blocks, sloping in some parts. It is located next to the road that connects the SP491 to the village of Ronzano. We asked the caretaker of the abbey if we could stay overnight. No prohibitions. We stopped on the night between June 22nd and 23rd. Very quiet night. Traffic on the road, at night, is almost non-existent. Warning: the first stretch of the road that connects the SP491 with the abbey is a single lane (only a hundred meters), but it is still doable. Wonderful view of the Gran Sasso. The abbey is very beautiful and worth a visit. The parking lot is very clean, leave it as you find it.
