Private parking lot at the bear shelter (managed by the Velebit Kuterevo Association and the Pavenka Zimzelen OPG). This is not a tourist campsite, but a place where the association's managers allow visitors of the refuge to spend the night (maximum 1 night). However, be sure to ask the volunteers for permission to stay the night and have your ID scanned (to ensure the shelter is in compliance with the state regulations). You'll have the chance to see at least a few bears; 8 are housed there. The shelter is open to visitors every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed in winter when the bears hibernate (November-February). The shelter operates only with volunteers. Donations and purchases from the small shop are welcome to thank and help the shelter run. It is possible to ask if you can help as a volunteer if you plan to stay at least 3-4 days.
