We came to Nice for the rugby, booked 1 night in Ibis Palais Nikaia and parked the van outside. We stayed in the van the night before but there is a very busy dual carriage way next to it, ok after a few beers tho! Its free and only 3km from the Allianz stadium. Only smaller vans in reality..
